We all eagerly check our turnip prices in Animal Crossing: New Horizons this morning to see if we can capitalize on the costly roots that now fill our homes and collective fields. It’s Monday morning, so the answer to that question is probably no – you usually have to wait until at least Tuesday to get a good feedback. Yesterday I wrote about Turnip Prophet, a tool you can use to predict turnip prices. Today I am looking at ACNH Turnip Calculator, a sleek alternative with awesome features.
This is how it works, for those who missed yesterday’s article: the prices of trunips on your island are not random. They follow one of a few predefined patterns, and a Animal crossing player named Ninja was able to walk over to the game code and extract all the relevant data. People have used this data to create tools you can use to predict the price of your turnip.
Turnip Calculator has an elegant interface, with a graph that shows you the different statistics that you need to know based on the numbers you entered: you can see the daily price, the average price, the minimum and the maximum. You can also see the guaranteed minimum price, below which your turnips will not drop for the week. The latter can be good for calming troubled spirits if you don’t know that you will be able to access the game at the right time.

Turnip Calculator is a group project, with the contributors listed on the site. It is important to remember that this is only used to predict the prices on your own island, and therefore you might not have a price of 500 + bells on your island in any given week. If you want to more or less guarantee such a high price, try a website like Turnip Exchange find someone with that price. Turnip prices improve when we all work together.
I will be using Turnip Prophet and Turnip Calculator all week to see how it works and if there are different results using different tools. These are fascinating things, and I’m excited to see how all of these fan-made tools progress, especially given how quickly they are coming online.
