Man found dead south of Tri-Cities, WA, homicide investigation
Investigators are investigating the death of a 33-year-old man from Pasco found south of Kennewick as a suspected homicide.
Benton County Sheriff’s detectives confirmed using a fingerprint comparison that Hector Cortez Ballardo was the person discovered at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sheriff’s Commanding Officer Jon Schwarder.
An employee of the United States Post Office discovered the body during its deliveries on the Bofer Canyon and Bateman roads east of Hwy 395 / Interstate 82.
The rural agricultural area is south of the intersection of Route 397 and I-82.
Investigators did not say how he could have died.
Benton County coroner officials expect the autopsy to take place next week.
Detectives closed the road along the area for several hours on Tuesday as they gathered evidence.
